I got
associated with the Hemophilia Society Mumbai (chapter), during the initial
days of my 2nd year in Medical School, and there has been no looking back
since then.
I initially just
attended one of their picnics, where I made a few friends, and definitely
one best friend, who has been one of my biggest support to fall back
upon--am not sure, though how much justice I have done to that
friendship..........
Anyway, my
involvement with the Hemophilia Society is to a level, where my opinion
about the functioning of the Society counts. I recently became an Executive
Committee member and am incharge of the youth group and its activities.
As one of the
founder members of the youth group, am personally responsible for handling
the youth at the various youth camps. I also initiated the quarterly
newsletter of the Chapter--"NAI CHETNA", which is aimed at bringing the
members of the Hemophilia Society closer together. I have also personally
built the society's website:
http://hemophilia-mumbai.tripod.com and try my best to keep it updated
at regular intervals.
Oh yes, I just
didn't mention what HSMC is all about!!! It's an NGO, working for the
betterment of people suffering with Hemophilia and their kin.
If you have any
queries related to hemophilia as to what it is, etc. or the organisation, or
about my involvement in the organisation or as to how you could contribute
to the cause, feel free to contact me.
You could also find your answers at the society's website:
http://hemophilia-mumbai.tripod.com , so
also their contact details. |
